Brief Description
DAI seeks a Deputy Chief of Party for the anticipated Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub (SATIH) project, a five-year trade facilitation project for Southern Africa. The anticipated project is expected to increase global competitiveness and intra-regional trade and improve food security in Southern Africa. Anticipated project activities include efforts to support national and regional bodies to facilitate intra-regional trade of agricultural commodities and economic integration, facilitate improved private sector competitiveness in key value chains, and expand trade through utilization of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

Duties and Responsibilities:
    Work directly with SADC member states to implement and coordinate technical activities of field offices and country representatives and embedded advisors;
    Manage partnerships with private sector, public sector, civil society, other donors, and other USAID missions and U.S. government agencies;
    Coordinate activities between program components;
    Provide tactical coordination of field activities;
    Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, and grantees to integrate technical activities across components; and
    Serve as the Acting Chief of Party as required.

 Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications:    Must be a national of an SADC member state;
    Graduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as business, economics, law, or related technical area;
    Minimum five years of management experience;
    Relevant development experience designing, implementing, and managing USAID or other donor-funded development programs preferred;
    Significant experience in key technical areas with proven ability to achieve program targets;
    Strong ability and desire to work collaboratively with governmental bodies in Southern Africa, international donors, local partners, and the private sector; and
    Excellent English language written and oral communication skills.
