Tetra Tech ARD, (www.tetratechintdev.com) headquartered in Burlington, Vermont is currently accepting applications from qualified Technical Specialists for the anticipated USAID-funded Promoting Tanzania’s Environment, Conservation and Tourism Activity (PROTECT) in Tanzania. This activity will address dynamics in Tanzania that threaten biodiversity conservation and inhibit private sector-led tourism growth. Full time and part time positions are available. Full time positions will be based in Dar es Salaam. Tanzanian citizens are encouraged to apply.

Key Technical Specialist Areas:
* Resource Policy Reform, working in wildlife conservation and tourism sectors
* Environmental Enterprise Development, specifically in tourism value chains in the private and public sectors
* Biodiversity Conservation, specifically working in wildlife protection and conservation, including anti-poaching initiatives
* Financial Management, managing USAID grants and sub contracts to build capacity and financial compliance
* Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation
* Small & Medium Enterprise Development
* Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building
* Tourism Marketing and Promotion
* Gender and Community Development
* Vocational Training

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in a related field; Master’s Degree or higher preferred;
* Minimum eight to ten (8-10) years’ experience in area of technical expertise;
* Five (5) years working on international technical assistance programs, USAID experience preferred;
* Professional experience in East Africa is required; experience working in Tanzania is preferred;
* Experience working to engage women and youth is highly desirable;
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team.
* Excellent planning, management and organizational skills; demonstrated capacity to quickly assess priorities and opportunities and manage a variety of activities with sufficient attention to detail;
* Strong leadership, management and analytical skills;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with donors, project stakeholders, in-country collaborators and staff at all levels of the organization;
* Excellent speaking, presentation, and writing skills;
* Strong MS Office skills, including Excel;
* Fluency in English required; Proficiency in Swahili is preferred.
