Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Research activities include designing social sciences research ideas for proposals as well as implementing them for funded grants.
• Community engagement includes liaising with community members, Community Advisory Board (CAB), and Village Health Team (VHTs).
• S/he will play a pivotal role in establishing and supporting a network of Community Health Mobilizers (CHMs) and ensure application of Good Participatory Practices in the development of the community engagement plan and the recruitment of research participants.
• Advocacy involves dealing with stake holders in government and non-government circles, the media, and other relevant agencies for promotion of HIV vaccine research work and HIV prevention in general.

Required Qualifications and experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Social Work and Social Administration with a Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Services Research, or Developmental Studies
• At least 2 years experience in conducting health/medical or sociobehavioral research with qualitative data collection skills
