Dorcas is a Christian relief and development organisation active in Eastern Europe and Africa. In these regions Dorcas works together with local partner organisations.
Dorcas is committed to fulfil the command Jesus Christ gave to His followers to take care of the poor and oppressed (Mt.25.31-46), irrespective of their race, religion, gender or political conviction, by encouraging self-reliance through development, providing social care and assisting in emergency situations.
Dorcas will expand its Agriculture, Food Security, Livelihoods and Disaster Management program (AFLM) to Moyale region in Kenya and Ethiopia.
For the Kenyan side of this cross border AFLM program aimed at reducing the underlying causes of conflict in the Horn of Africa, Dorcas is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with a possible start Date of June 2014 to be stationed in Moyale.
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain cashbooks and accounting records.
Make payments, and preparing payment vouchers.
Receive cash and preparing receipt vouchers.
Maintaining the cash float registers.
Preparation of month end cashbook and financial reports.
Maintain all administration files.
Receive, distribute, circulate and file all documents that come into the office.
Skills & Requirements:
Must possess at least CPA Section IV or ACCA Part II.
Have knowledge of working with Excel and Quickbooks/Sage Accounting systems.
Must have at least 1 year working experience in a busy environment.
