Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF) is a 5 year DFID funded programme to utilise innovative responses to the challenges of the quality, efficiency and sustainability in service delivery for the Health, Education and Water & Sanitation sectors. HDIF aims to incentivize responses by new technologies and involvement of the private sector to these issues. Sustainable progress in tackling poverty in Tanzania relies on improved service delivery and quality; this will have the greatest impact on pro-poor growth.
GRM international is hiring a Team Leader to lead and provide strategic direction for HDIF and successful delivery of services as described in the client Head Contract. The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall managerial and technical leadership of the programme, client relationship and reporting, personnel, stakeholders, administration, finance and procurement.
Successful Candidate will demonstrate:
Relevant education background in international development, economics or related field;
Proven track record in fostering innovation in a business start-up environment, preferably in Africa;
Experience with, and solid understanding of social impact investment.
At least 10 years' experience in a senior management position, including in large donor funded international development projects, preferably including DFID and in client facing roles;
Successful track-record in delivery of complex programmes/projects and development of private-public partnerships and innovation
Strong technical track record in private sector development and in particular knowledge and credibility in any of the following: health; education; water & sanitation.
Excellent leadership, management and organisational skills
Strong representation, interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working in fragile states
Experience working in Tanzania is an advantage
Ability to work in a cross cultural environment.
