THE POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Management of Tanzania Portland Cement is inviting for a suitable candidate to fill in the above position.
Skills and Qualification:
The candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1.Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science,NEBOSH OHS Diploma OR its equivalent.
2.Must be competent working with OHSA’s 18001:2007 Oc
cupational Safety Management System, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.
3. Computer proficient with knowledge in MS office.
4. Must have good leadership, planning and organizing skills and the ability to perform well under
pressure.
5. Must be fluent in speaking and writing both English and Swahili languages.
6. Minimum of five (5) years of working experience in a Manufacturing/Cement, Mining, Construction industry or its equivalent.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Provide Occupational safety and Training to all staff, contractors, visitors and assist in the implementation of the occupational Health and Safety management system at TPCC.
2. Attend relevant departmental safety related meetings as agreed with the OHS Manager.
3. Responsible for building Occupational Health and Safety Culture and ensure regular inspections are conducted within all areas of the site including facilities manned by contractors and conduct regular audits/job observations to determine the level of compliance with PPE requirements.
4. Prepare safety statistics on a weekly, monthly and annual basis report of activities and statistics
conducted during the period in an accurate and timely manner for inclusion in the site-wide monthly
report.
5. Conduct accidents and incidents investigations and prepare the report and record keeping in the data base system and hard copy.
6. Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA) compliance with the company requirements.
7. Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
